Augusta Sports & Outdoors
Most folks only think of golf when they think of Augusta. Man, are they missing out! Mild temperatures year-round means exciting adventures year-round. Water or land, mountain biking or water skiing, we’ve got something for every adventurer.
Since we’re right on the Savannah River, we’ve got plenty of activities for those who love water. Take a guided tour with Two Dudes and a Boat Kayak Rentals or with Reserve and Ride Watersports. Try Savannah Rapids Pavilion for kayaking, canoeing and SUPing. The lake is perfect for boating or sailing. With water comes greenery, like the Augusta Canal Heritage Area or Phinizy Swamp, which are both great places for hiking or biking. Check out Forks Area Trail System, otherwise known as FATS, the world-class mountain biking trail.
Slow things down and stroll along the Augusta Riverwalk or through the North Augusta Greeneway. Or root for the home team at an Augusta Greenjackets baseball game. We also have plenty of parks and facilities to get you in the game, whether it’s tennis, golf or disc golf. Speaking of disc golf, the headquarters of the Professional Disc Golf Association is in Augusta’s River Region. We even have the world’s largest Ironman® 70.3 competition.
